Seek the Truth Bible Media Podcast Broadcast from Liverpool

I don't know about you but I would love to have been around when Jesus was on earth. Whatever you think about Jesus Christ, I think many would agree, He was a fascinating person. BUT He was a lot more than that. His claims and awareness were unique! He said He came from heaven to earth. He stated that His death would draw mankind to Him. He promised to rise from the dead and history records that He did. Listen to this podcast and eavesdrop on a conversation that Jesus had with some of His critics. It makes for interesting listening!

The problem with iOS 6 and apple maps

Now here's a question. If a map does not show you a location does it exist or because the map says that it's not there does it not exist? Anyone who is into gadgets, phones, apps etc will be aware of the difficulties that apple have been facing over their new software up date for iPhones.

We all know that because apple maps do not show Jerusalem or the Brooklyn Bridge that they still exist. The fact that the map does not show them does remove them from the face of the earth.

My Point - it's simple, I'll get to the point. Just because Richard Dawkins, or the late Christopher Hitchens or intelligent (but not necessarily wise) men of their ilk say that God does not exist or that Jesus did not die on the cross or that Jesus did not rise from the dead cannot eradicate the fact that:

1. God does exist!
2. Jesus did live a sinless life, die on a cross to atone for sin and;
3. Jesus did rise from the dead on the third day and offer to those who are prepared to hear him, turn from sin and turn in believing faith to him, the forgiveness of sins.

Check your history about points 2 and 3 and search your soul, look at the precision of your anatomy, scientific discovery and the wonder of the world and universe for point 1.

God bless you. Seek the Lord, while he may be found.

Where am I going?

It's a good question and one that becomes all the more relevant when you are lost? The other important question is - where am I? Normally those two questions will get you back on the right road. If you don't know the way then you still have a problem. Can I translate this into life terms i.e. the big questions. Are you going anywhere or is it all a pointless journey through life? What do you believe? Can you know the truth, are there absolute and objective truths to be known? I believe you can know? God has communicated and validated His word, the Bible, so that you can know. God's Son, Jesus, came to earth and validated His claims to deity by His lifestyle, the fulfilment of biblical predictions, His supernatural miracles and His death and resurrection. Read the Gospel of John in the bible. It's worth a read for any thinking person who is seeking the truth. God bless you. Stephen

Exams, Study, Career, Preparing for Life

I am sure that many of you are so happy that the exams are over and that you can now enjoy the summer and get on with your life. For some however this is just the beginning as they start a job or begin a new phase in their life. My daughter has just started a job in Manchester and is experiencing the thrill of getting up early to get the train and trying to go bed early to cope with the tiredness. Some say 'it's all part of the rich tapestry of life' others being more honest say it's just extremely exhausting.

I read an article in a paper we distribute in our community recently. It was about a young Naval Officer on his first day on the job after a considerable time of training. The prospect of guiding a ship across the Atlantic was very exciting. This was his first opportunity to prove to everyone that he had the ability to handle the ship efficiently. He confidently issued orders and the decks buzzed with men performing their tasks. The ship left it's moorings in record time and quickly cruised toward the open seas.

The young officer is handed a folded piece of paper. What is it he thinks? Was it perhaps a message of congratulations from the captain?

The note was a radio message that read. "You have completed the exercise according to the book and with amazing speed, in your haste, however you overlooked a vital though unwritten rule: "make sure the captain is aboard before getting underway." The note was signed, "your captain".

Like the young officer, many people study hard and prepare for life's journey with great intensity and a desire to do everything to the best of their ability. They often pull away from the "dock" without asking the Captain to come aboard in their lives. By failing to ask God to be in control they are destined for a life of always learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth.
