The clocks on the Liver Birds Tower stand 18 feet high

It is good to know the time. This is true in every day terms but also good in terms of the moral state of the world and it is definitely important in terms of our personal moral state. The bible says that 'it is time to seek the Lord'. The following quotation from the bible highlights the urgency of hearing God's voice before it is too late. 

“In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

( 2 Corinthians 6 - The Bible)

This weekend the city of Liverpool remembers the Battle of the Atlantic. Memories will be painful for some but even the painful memories must be balanced against the fact that many died so that we could live peaceful and free lives. This reminds me of the fact that God's Son, Jesus Christ died to give us our freedom. Not freedom from the evil dominance of a man who sought to rule the world but freedom from sin and evil. The Bible says - 'the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world'. The men and women who sailed the Atlantic and kept the sea routes open for trade gave us life and freedom. We salute them and honour them. Let us see that we also honour Jesus for His death to purchase our freedom and to give us eternal life.
