Ruth Bell Graham's Prayer

Many years ago, the future wife of Billy Graham prayed the prayer at the end of this post. Her prayer was undoubtedly answered. 

Have you ever made a note of your prayers? It’s the only way to know if your prayers are answered. God hears and answers prayers. 

The first prayer we need to make is the prayer of repentance. Here are some verses that confirm this truth.

Before you read the verses let me explain what the word repent means. To repent means a change of place or condition, to exercise the mind, think, comprehend. It is a change of mind or to relent. 

Theologically, it involves regret or sorrow, accompanied by a true change of heart toward God. It is distinguished from mere regret - summary of definition from 'The Complete Word Study Bible'. 

Billy Graham Remembered - What will you be remembered for?

What will you be remembered for? 

When your life is over what will you be remembered for? It’s quite a sobering question.

In a previous career, I read a book called ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Dr Stephen R. Covey. In his book, Dr Covey introduced a habit, called ‘the habit of Beginning with the End in Mind’. The idea was a wise one. To achieve anything, you need to know what you are aiming for. Having done that you need to work out how to get there. What are you aiming for?

A State of Shock in the UK

It is almost twenty years since Diana, Princess of Wales died in a car crash in a tunnel in France. It was the 31^st August 1997 and her funeral at Westminster Abbey was on the 9^th September 1997. During that period of time the Nation was in a state of shock and needed a spiritual voice to be heard that would guide people to have faith in God but it was not heard!

Expressions of grief were displayed by the million plus bouquets of flowers placed at the gates of Kensington Palace and Althorp House which stacked to over five feet high.

A clear spiritual message was not heard in the Abbey, but the voice of a pop singer instead.
