Europe - a place where God is blessing people

When God made the heavens and the earth everything was perfect.  The stars and the planets were in their correct order and location and everything was ‘on the move’.  Planet earth, the sun and the moon each were set revolving in an orderly manner.
The earth revolves around the sun at 67,000 miles per hour.
The sun orbits at 492,000 miles per hour.
The moon orbits Earth at a speed of 2,288 miles per hour and completes its circuit in just less than 28 days.
But note the following:
  1. We have no sensation of movement of any kind, other than we can see the moon in different positions in the sky.
  2. We can trust and depend upon the stability of this order and mariners can plot their course by fixing their location in relation to the North Star.
  3. We don’t have to worry when we go to bed at night that the sun will rise in the East and bring all the benefits to planet Earth that it requires to sustain life.

Power - Megalomania, Men and God

Power – Megalomania, Men and God

By Stephen Baker

Men love power – but why? Stephen points out that history is full of men who want to be God, but only one God who would be man. That man is Jesus, Son of God.
Life is full of questions and often the answers are difficult. Stephen Baker seeks to answer various questions about life and faith using the Bible as his only source. Listen to Stephen’s show, “Life Questions,” on HopeStreamRadio as he tackles the challenge of life questions

Men Who Want to be God

History is replete with men who have strived to be recognized as God. The ultimate power sought by many is to rule over other men and women and be worshipped by them.
Before Jesus had reached His second birthday, He had already become the target of an assassination plot by King Herod, the ruthless and paranoid ruler of Roman-controlled Judea. Joseph and Mary, prompted by a dream from God, took the baby and fled to Egypt.

A battle for the sovereignty of the UK

Where are the Brexit negotiations heading?

As a bystander, who has a limited understanding of politics, these negotiations have gone well beyond determining the method and means by which the United Kingdom will exit Europe. It looks to me like a war. The aim of the hierarchy of the European Union is to ensure that the UK will either remain or leave in name only. The British Goverment has a clear mandate to bring the UK  out.

What was intended to be a ‘bolt to freedom’ is fast becoming a ‘battle for the sovereignty of a nation’! The national mood was to throw off the shackles and bureaucracy of the European Union resulting in a return to self rule.

All of this current debacle reflects the struggles of the human heart and will as described in the Bible.

Will Israel Survive?

Will Israel survive?

I was interested to read the above noted article about Iran, Israel and Middle East regional politics. I am reading a book at the moment by Joel.C.Rosenberg called Epicentre. The focus of the book is that the rumblings and activities of nations in the Middle East in relation to Israel are extremely significant in terms of fulfilling biblical predictions and prophesies. Check this one out - the Bible says that as long as there is a Sun and Moon there will be a nation called Israel. It has been true so far despite periods of exile. Epicentre and the article are well worth a read. It is also worth considering that God's word is truth. This is relevant not only in matters of nations and politics but in the matter of salvation. Jesus said 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me' (The Gospel of John.14.6) and Peter, one of the Apostles, said about Jesus 'neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved' (Acts.4.12). Ignore it all at your peril or believe it and receive 'the gift of God (which) is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord' (Romans.6.23).
